Anglo American

Anglo American faces a reporting challenge due to the sheer breadth and variety of its activities around the world, from coal mining and diamond production to paper milling.

We have been involved in Anglo American's corporate responsibility reporting from the beginning. We ran stakeholder workshops in Johannesburg and London to help the company prepare for reporting.

The company deals with a wide range of issues around sustainable extraction and use of natural resources. HIV among employees is also a priority, particularly with Anglo's strong presence in South Africa.

We helped Anglo write its first Environment, Health and Safety Report in 2000, and have been involved in each subsequent report.

Anglo has increasingly used case studies to emphasis how corporate policies are implemented in practice. These local stories help to give the report a very real feel. We wrote the case studies for the ACCA award-winning 2005 Sustainable Development Report.

We continue to contribute to Anglo's reporting and provide strategic advice on its wider sustainability agenda.
