Coca Cola

We helped Coca-Cola Europe take the first step towards CR reporting in 2006, with its European Business and Social Review. This is unlike most CR reports because of Coca-Cola's business structure.

The company does not have direct control over most of the distribution network. Coca-Cola only manufactures the concentrates and syrups, which it sells to independent bottlers. These companies manufacture, bottle and distribute the finished products.

Unlike other CR reports, which focus on just one company, the Review explores the CR performance of Coca-Cola and the 30 independent companies to which it licences its products in Europe.

It describes how Coca-Cola contributes to European economies and societies, addressing the company's most significant CR issues. These include nutrition, responsible marketing, employment, the environment and investment in communities.

We organised a series of workshops for opinion leaders to gauge their response to Coca-Cola’s first European report.
