Land Securities
In 2006, we helped Land Securities create an innovative report. Doing Corporate
Responsibility combines challenging articles, extended case studies and
data to help readers understand the issues in the property sector as well
as Land Securities' CR strategy and performance.
We wrote three 'think
pieces' based on interviews with the CEO, Francis Salway, a biodiversity
expert and a leading sustainability architect. These explore the complex
challenges facing a commercial property company. and identify some solutions.
The report also features
three case studies describing the company's CR activity in each of its
three businesses - development, property outsourcing and shopping centres.
We interviewed company employees, customers and external experts. We also
visited Land Securities properties, including a shopping centre in Sunderland
in the north-east of England.
A fourth case study
explores the employment issues for the company through the voice of an
employee, Wendy Franks. Wendy talks about the positives and negatives
of being a Land Securities employee.
The articles and case studies make Doing Corporate Responsibility accessible
to both CR professionals and non-specialists. A data section provides
the hard facts which any CR report needs to be credible and to show how
the company is progressing.
